Installing apps from outside the Play Store on Android TV requires a few extra steps. Follow this guide carefully.
Most Android TVs don't allow direct APK installation. You'll need a helper app to sideload our FTP Movie App.
On your Android TV, open Google Play Store and install: "File Commander" and "Send Files to TV". Also install "VLC for Android TV".
Go to Settings → About → Click on "Build Number" 7 times to enable Developer Options. Then go to Settings → Developer Options → Enable "Unknown Sources" or "Install unknown apps".
On your Android phone, go to your SafeKid dashboard and download the FTP Movie APK file. Also install "Send Files to TV" app on your phone from Play Store.
Make sure your phone and TV are on the same WiFi network. Open "Send Files to TV" on both devices. On your phone, select the APK file and send it to your TV.
On your TV, open "File Commander" and navigate to the received file. Click on the APK and select "Install". If prompted, allow installation from unknown sources.
Find the FTP Movie App in your TV's app list. Open it and start browsing movies. When you click play, it will automatically open in VLC Player.
If you can't find the installed app, try looking in Settings → Apps → See all apps. You can add it to your home screen from there.
Make sure "Unknown Sources" is enabled. If still not working, try clearing cache of your file manager app and retry.
Make sure VLC Player is installed. Also verify that you have a broadband internet connection in a supported area.
